Is Your Website’s “Engine” Killing Your Conversions?
Most people think SEO = keywords.
But lately, it feels more like platforms are judging experience first.
You can have great content… but if your site takes a few seconds to load heavy scripts or animations, many visitors won’t wait.
What I look at (beyond the “score”)
Using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights or Lighthouse, I’m not chasing green numbers.
I’m asking:
- LCP → Does the main content show quickly?
- INP → Does the site react instantly when I click?
- CLS → Does anything jump around while loading?
Simple question behind all 3: Does the site feel smooth, or slightly frustrating?
The Page Builder Reality…
I use page builders too.
They’re great for speed and flexibility, but they can add extra weight behind the scenes.
Not a deal-breaker. Just something to manage.
What usually helps (even without dev skills)…
Reduce unnecessary JS (especially heavy libraries)
- Minify CSS/JS
- Lazy load what’s below the fold
- Prioritise readable text over perfect fonts
- Don’t ignore hosting quality
The bit that matters.
Performance isn’t just “for Google”…
It shapes the moment before conversion even begins.
Before:
– your copy persuades
– your design impresses
the site needs to:
– load fast
– respond instantly
– feel stable
Otherwise… people leave before they even “arrive”.
Bottom line:
Tech SEO and design work together.
A faster site isn’t a trick — it’s simply a better experience.
